Patricia Ann (Patsy) Messer Wiggington , age 54 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2011. She had been at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

She was born in Stanford, Kentucky on March 29, 1957, the youngest child and only daughter of the late James William and Elizabeth Siler Messer.  Patsy was a paralegal for thirty-three years.  She loved to cook and make crafts.  She especially delighted in making others, both friends and friends-yet-to-know, happy with surprises at birthdays and other events that she made special with her personal touch.  Patsy was a member of Calvary Separate Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky.  She was a wonderful wife and friend and made the world a better place for all who met and knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Rick Wiggington, whom she married, after a two year courtship, on May 17, 1985 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; two brothers, William (Bill) Messer of Somerset, KY and Thomas (Tommy) Messer of Crab Orchard, KY; several cousins; several nieces and nephews, Ronald (Ronnie) Messer, Kevin Messer and Donna Messer of Middleton; and special “Little Ones”, Amanda, Abigail and Nicholas Wiggington (children of Rollin and Amy Wiggington); a very special sister-in-law, Zelma Messer; her mother-in-law, Marie Wiggington; her best friend, Jo E. Hayden; and Patsy’s special child of her heart, Misty Blue, a mini-schnauzer. 

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald Ray Messer and Dwight (Bimbo) Messer, a beloved grandmother, Martha Messer; and father-in-law, Aldon (Hoss) Wiggington. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 after 10:00 am at Calvary Separate Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Brother Mark Polston and Brother Matthew Daulton will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Military Springs Cemetery in Jabez, Kentucky.  Pallbearers will be William and Thomas Messer, Kevin Messer, Scott Polston, Rollin Wiggington and Janice Messer.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Holt.
