Phillip
Wayne Beasley, age 66 of Nancy, Kentucky, departed this life on
Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his residence.
He
was born on November 23, 1944 in Pulaski County, Kentucky to the
late Estle Lee and Audie Ethel Roy Beasley. He was a United
States Army veteran. He was a member of the Chesterview
Baptist Church. Mr. Beasley was a God-fearing man. He
loved farming and working in the log woods. Mr. Beasley
loved raising mules and horses. He loved his family and
friends.
He
is survived by his wife, Hazel Phillips Beasley, whom he married
on December 10, 1967 in Somerset, KY; a son, Michael Wayne Beasley
of Nancy, KY; a daughter, Rhonda Michelle (and Steve) Hughes of
Nancy, KY; three grandchildren, Timothy Michael Gray, David
Michael Beasley and Joshua Garrett Gray; two sisters, Barbara
Louise (and Herman) Price of Nancy, KY and Patricia Ann (and
Jerry) Searan of Nancy, KY; he leaves behind many nieces and
nephews that he loved dearly.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel
Phillip Hughes; a brother, Robert Lee Beasley; and a sister, Betty
Ruth Wiles.
Visitation
will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011 after 5:00 pm at Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral
service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at
New Hope Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky with Brother Charles
Woodcock and Brother Murrell Crockett officiating. Burial
will be in the New Hope Cemetery. American Legion Post #38
Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
The
family request expressions of sympathy be made to the American
Cancer Society and/or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
