Phillip
R. Rodgers, age 72 of Bronston, Kentucky, departed this life on
Tuesday, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He
was born on November 7, 1938 in E. Huntington, Pennsylvania to the
late George and Anna Marvin Rodgers. He was a United States
Army veteran and a machinist at Lier Siegler. Mr. Rodgers
was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Wayne County.
He
is survived by his wife, Marie Keith Rodgers, whom he married on
April 17, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Joseph Rodgers of
Manchester, NH; two step-sons, Leland (and Vickie) Keith and Larry
Nevels, both of Bronston, KY; a daughter, Julie Rodgers of
Manchester, NH; a step-daughter, Linda Reynolds of Cleveland, OH;
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan
Lyons of Perryopolis, PA.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip
Rodgers and two brothers, George and Bobby Rodgers.
Visitation
will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 after 6:00 at Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral
service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm at
the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Denzil
Jones and Brother Eric Criswell officiating. Burial will be
in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The
family request expressions of sympathy be made to the Zion Baptist
Church Building Fund.
