Ralph L. Black, age 66 of
Science Hill, KY departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2011
at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Black was born on
February 1, 1945 in Somerset, KY to the late William Riley and
Bonnie Girdler Black. He retired from General Electric after 27
years. Mr. Black was an U.K. Basketball fan and an avid
sportsman, collector of Chevy Hotrods, and a Harley Davidson
rider.
He is survived by a son,
Louis A. Black of Wellington, KY; a daughter, Amy M. (and Michael)
Lane of Mt. Sterling, KY; three grandchildren, Wade, Bricen, and
Kurtlan Lane; two brothers, Bill Black of Somerset and Charles
David (and Tana) Black of New Castle, IN; three sisters, Elizabeth
Denham of Somerset, Margaret Burns of Somerset, and Garnella
Howell of Hamilton, OH; and his fiancée, Patsy VanHook of
Somerset.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar “Chief” Black,
Jack Black, and Paul Black; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Owens,
Dorothy Warren, and Martha Helen Black.
Visitation for Mr. Black
will be Monday, September 5th at 5:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be
held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 6th at the Chapel of
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will in the Campground Cemetery in Somerset.
