Ralph D. Hopkins, age 79 of
Somerset, KY departed this life on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at
the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on September
15, 1931 in Brodhead, KY to the late George and Lula Brock
Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was a retired machine repairman for G.M.
Fisher Body in Hamilton, OH and a member of the Trinity Fellowship
Church in Somerset, KY.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by
his wife, Ava J. Hasty Hopkins, whom he married on October 26,
1950 in Mt. Vernon, KY; a son, Gary (and Phyllis) Hopkins of Gas
City, IN; a daughter, Gail Hopkins (and Keith Bowermeister) of
Fairfield, OH; four grandchildren, Barbara Hopkins, Lisa (and
Clint) Sawyer, Gary Hopkins II, and Jennifer (and Brock) Hoskins;
five great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (and Sue) Hopkins of
Brodhead, KY; many nieces and nephews; a brother &
sister-in-law, Orville and Betty Hasty Bussell; a very special
pastor, Bro. Jerry Burnett; and many other relatives and
special friends.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by twenty-three brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Mr. Hopkins
will be on Saturday, April 16th at 12 Noon at the
Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with his funeral service to
follow at 2:00 pm. Bro. Jerry Burnett will officiate.
Graveside service will be
Monday, April 18th at 11:00 am at the Hickory Flats
Cemetery in Trenton, OH.
