Raymond
Howard York, 82, of
Eubank
,
Kentucky
, departed this life and went home to be with Jesus on Saturday,
July 23, 2011.
He
was born in
Somerset
,
Kentucky
on November 9, 1928, son of the late Henry and Isabelle Bullock
York. Raymond was a United States Army veteran, a loving
brother, father and grandfather, who had worked hard in life and
touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was a member of
Spirit of Truth Outreach Church, where he was an usher and
honorary father to the church. He was affectionately called
"Papaw" to all that knew him and was enriched by his
love. He loved Jesus and called upon him all through the
years to be his comforter and his guide. He loved to get out
on his jazzy and go to flea markets...and of course,
"Wal-Mart". He was a true friend to all and loved
to buy gifts for everyone. He was an avid knife collector,
but gave most away. He was a testimony of strength, love,
mercy, compassion and kindness. His love for Jesus never
wavered through the years. He will be greatly missed by all
who loved and knew him. He loved his family, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
