Richard T. Meadows Sr.

September 19, 1933 - April 29, 2008

Richard T. Meadows Sr., age 74, of Nancy, Ky passed away Tuesday, April 29.2008 at his residence.

Mr. Meadows was born in Clay City on September 19, 1933 to the late Henry and Fannie Campbell Meadows. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Lexington Army Depot. He was a veteran in the Air Force and Army.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Fannie Strange Meadows whom he married April 22, 1957 in Powell County, KY; 5 sons, Richard & Debbie Meadows, Nancy, Tracey & Darlene Meadows, Nancy, Clifford & Angie Meadows, Clay City, Gary & Andra Meadows, Russell Springs, Brian Meadows, Nancy; 2 daughters, Barbara Choate, Burnside, Alexandrea Meadows, Nancy; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Roger, Clifford & Larry Meadows; 2 sisters, Freda Taylor, Nancy Freedmon; 31 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Everett Meadows and a sister, Eunice Babbcock.

Funeral services for Richard T. Meadows Sr. will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Chapel of Hearnes Funeral Home, Stanton, KY at 11:00am with Rev. J.S. New, Rev. Wayne Keith and Rev. Jerry Frye officiating. Interment will follow in Meadows Cemetery, Clay City, KY. Pallbearers are Marvin Strange, Gregory Strange, Terry Strange, Richard McClure, Eric Slemp, Danny Darbyshire, Billy Welch, and Maynard Watkins. Honorary pallbearers Tony Ritchie, Tracy Meadows Jr., Christopher Crowe, Allen Crowe, Michael Meadows, Ryan Meadows and James Choate Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 6:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home and Friday, May 2, 20008 at 6 pm at the Hearnes Funeral Home in Stanton, Ky.
