Robert
Henry Goff, age 89 of Somerset, KY departed this life on Sunday,
February 13, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He
was born on August 11, 1921 in Elihu, KY to the late Albert K. and
Elsie Heath Goff. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII,
worked for Grissom, Rakestraw, and Hamers Lumber Company in
Burnside, KY, and a member of the Science Hill Christian Church.
Mr.
Goff is survived by his son, James (and Doris) Goff of Somerset,
KY; a daughter, Connie Goff of Somerset, KY; three grandchildren,
Robin (and Laurie) Goff, Justin (and Jessica) Goff, and Beth (and
Chad) Curry; ten great grandchildren, Brandon Goff, Jacob Goff,
Toby James Goff, Levi Goff, Jorden and Jase Goff, Logan,
Ally, Libby, and Maddi Curry, all of Somerset, KY; a
brother, John (and Sis) Goff of Somerset, KY; and a sister, Thelma
Goff of Somerset, KY.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen
Lucille Davis Goff, whom he married on July 17, 1953; five
brothers, Oscar, Willie, Ben, Hershal, and Cecil; and a sister,
Lona.
Visitation
for Mr. Goff will be on Wednesday, February 16th after
12 Noon at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with the
funeral service at 2:00 pm. Bro. Charles Lucas will officiate.
Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. The American Legion Post
#38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors for Mr. Goff.
The
