Robert B. Hollen, age 79 of
Nancy, KY departed this life on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his
residence.
He was born on February 3,
1932 in Clay County, KY to the late James and Romaine Nolan Hollen.
Mr. Hollen was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a
machinist for General Electric in Cincinnati, OH, former chairman
of the bargaining committee and shop steward of the International
Association of Machinist Union Local 912, and a former search and
rescue diver. Mr. Hollen liked to golf and fish. He attended
the East Somerset Baptist Church and was an adoring father,
grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Hollen is survived by
his wife, Virginia Wilson Hollen, whom he married on September 9,
2003 in Gatlinburg, TN; four sons, Robert Wayne (and Debbie)
Hollen of San Diego, CA, Terry Lee Hollen of California, Robert
Bruce (and Cindy) Hollen of Cincinnati, OH, and Keith Allen Hollen
of Greendale, IN; two daughters, Cynthia L. (and Dave) Tincher of
Norwood, OH and Pamela S. Hollen-Knight of Cincinnati, OH; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Edith Huffman of
Cincinnati, OH; a special cousin, Homer Nolan of Sardinia, OH;
stepdaughter, Teresa (and Gary) Gilvin of Richmond, KY; and a
stepson, Danny Ray Wilson of Springfield, TN.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Bruce Hollen; a sister,
Helen Hollen; and two stepsons, Larry and Gregory Wilson.
Visitation for Mr. Hollen
will be Saturday, March 5th at 12 Noon at the Chapel of
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with his funeral service to follow at
2:00 pm. Dr. Darvie Fenison will officiate. A graveside service
will be held on Monday, March 7th at 11:00 am at Mill
Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with the American Legion
Post #38 Honor Guard conducting full military honors.
