spouse, Michael W. Simpson, survives. They were married on

She was a loving wife and mother. To this union was born one
son, Jonathan Michael (and Rhonda) Simpson of Glasgow, Kentucky
and one daughter, Joy Vanessa Simpson of Somerset.

surviving is her best friend and sister, Janet Lee (and Ron)
Stricklin; two grandsons, Ryan Alexander Simpson and Jarrett
Cooper Simpson of Glasgow, KY; a granddaughter, Kayla Brooke

She
was raised in a loving home where family life was important and
friends were a treasure. A member of Beacon Hill Baptist
Church, she accepted Christ at an early age and practiced her
beliefs in everyday life. She had a compassion for children
and was always there to help in some way, never asking for
recognition.
After
receiving an associate degree in accounting, she worked in the
banking business until becoming an at-home mom, doing cub scouts,
brownie scouts, boy and girl scouts, PTA and children’s choir.
She co-owned a business with her husband, working as the
bookkeeper. Wanting to become a teacher, she entered Eastern
Kentucky University completing Education and Masters degrees.
She was a business/technology teacher at Southwestern High School,
sponsor for FBLA and FPLP and a district officer of KEA.
This was her passion and she loved her students and fellow
teachers.
