Sara Rachel Ramsey January 27, 1927 - July 11, 2008
Sara
Rachel Ramsey, age 81 of Dunnellon, Florida, formerly of the West
Somerset community, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008 in Florida. She was
born on January 27, 1927 in Somerset to the late Oscar and Vada Miller
Tucker. She was a retired nurse’s aide for Sunrise Manor Nursing Home
and member of the Old Fashion Faith Baptist Church of Somerset. She was
a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed riding horses and raising
flowers. Mrs.
Ramsey is survived by two sons, Stanley (and Wanda) Ramsey of Eubank, KY
and Steve (and Virginia) Ramsey of Somerset; two daughters, Beckie (and
Ronnie) Dial of Columbia, KY and Jackie Ramsey of Dunnellon, FL; eleven
grandchildren, Steve (and Noel) Ramsey Jr., Georgia (and Paul) Perry,
Billie Melton, Larry (and Missy) Blevins, Joshua Ramsey, Shannon (and
Kim) Dial, Ronnie Lee Dial, Justin (and Tina) Ramsey, Amy (and Kirk)
Carman, Joy Mounce, and Amy Norman; seventeen great grandchildren; a
sister, Ella Marie Richards of Corbin, KY; and a special friend, Chan
Zielie. She was
preceded by her parents, Oscar and Vada Tucker; husband, Homer Leslie
Ramsey; a daughter, Georgia Leetta Ramsey; a son, Tony Ramsey; three
sisters, Meda Tucker, May Tucker, and Margie Kent; four brothers,
Edward, Floyd, James Everett, and Oscar Jr.; a grandson, Mark Anthony
Ramsey; and a stepson, Howard William Ramsey. Visitation
for Mrs. Ramsey will be Monday, July 14, 2008 after 6:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 15th at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy C. Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery.
