Sharon Rose Wilkinson Akers, age 58 of Somerset, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

She was born on February 21, 1953 in Danville, Illinois to Versa Morgan Adkins and the late Kenneth E. Britt.  She was a homemaker.  She was of the Baptist faith. 

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Akers:  one son, Tony Wilkinson of Attica, Indiana; one daughter, Sherry Shelley of Veedersburg, Indiana; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren; six brothers, Denny, Kenny, Sonny, Michael, Larry and Harley Britt; and one sister, Sheryll High; and her step-father, Cecil Adkins.   

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a son who was stillborn, Chad Wilkinson; a brother, Tom Britt and a sister, Darneda Gaines.  

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Union Christian Cemetery in Fountain County, Indiana.
