Thurman Alonzo Stephens,
age 71 of Revelo, KY departed this life on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at
the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
He was born on March 21,
1940 in Barthell, KY to the late Alonzo and Pearl Phillips
Stephens. He retired working in the mechanical heating and air
business. Mr. Stephens was a United States Army veteran and a
member of the American Legion Post #115 in Stearns, KY. He loved
to fish and was very hard worker.
Mr. Stephens is survived by
a son, Alonzo Dale Holbrook of Nancy, KY; three daughters, Lilly
McGlone of Somerset, KY, Elizabeth Kaye (and Russ) Cosby of Dry
Ridge, KY, and Violet Jewell Ball of Mt. Orb, OH; thirteen
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Jamie
Stephens of Pine Knot, KY and Gary Summers of Tennessee; and two
sisters, Tabitha Stephens of Pine Knot, KY and Kim Stephens of
Pine Knot, KY.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Stephens.
Visitation for Mr. Stephens
will be Monday, May 9th at 9:00 am at the Chapel of
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with his funeral service to follow at
11:00 am. Bro. Brian Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in
the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with the American
Legion Post #38 Honor Guard of Somerset conducting military
honors.
