Velma Surber Thomas, 82, of Eubank , Kentucky , passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati , Ohio .

She was born in Eubank , Kentucky on May 20, 1928, daughter of the late Charlie and Mayme Bishop Surber.  She worked in Central service for Christ Hospital .

She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Kozma of Burlington, KY, two step daughters, Joy Reynolds of Florence , KY and Carol Griggs of Somerset , nine grandchildren, Matt Brummett, Joe Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds, Jeff Reynolds, Brian Hendricks, Barry Hendricks, Shawn Dunn, April Hayes and Cody Griggs and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Adrian Thomas, her parents and one step daughter, Betty Hendricks.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Emmitt Lanham officiating.

Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery .

Visitation will be after 10 AM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
