Willie Pennington, age 78,
of Somerset, KY passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Pennington was born in
Hazard, KY on May 17, 1932 to the late Clint and Anna Fields
Pennington. He retired from Ford Motors after 31 years, is a
Unites States Army veteran of the Korean War, attended the Eagle
Heights Church, a member of Calvin Cliftons Masonic Lodge of Ohio,
Three Springs Dock Association, Disabled American Veterens, and
Friends of Lake Cumberland.
Mr. Pennington is survived
by his wife; Corine Combs Pennington, whom he married on February
21st, 1953 in Newport, KY, four sons; Rick Pennington
of Somerset, KY, Delynn Pennington of Cincinnati, OH, Kenny
Pennington of Fairfield, OH, Willie Pennington Jr of Somerset, KY,
four daughters; Myranda & (Eddie) Gessner of Ross, OH, Anna
Corbel of Hamilton, OH, Melissa Maya of Elyria, OH, Tonya
Pennington of Oxford, OH, a brother; Ira Pennington of Somerset,
KY, five sisters; Nancy Worzback of Pineville, KY, Rowena Noe of
Newport, KY, Mabel Campbell of Hamilton, OH, Alice White of
Hazard, KY, Linda Rice of Texas, fifteen grandchildren; Jamie
Roark, Ricky Corbel, Eric Pennington, Missy Hammond, Brian Gessner,
Brett Gessner, Brandon Gessner, Jessica Taylor Miranda, Chelsea
Carter, Sarah Pennington, Alaina Wright, Katie Pennington, Mike
Cotton, Donna Corbell, Laura Corbell, six great-grandchildren;
Meagan Roark, Terin Roark, Adriana Miranda, Gabriella Miranda,
Landen Gessner, Blake Pennington, and a host of nieces, nephews
and friends.
Along with his parents he
is preceded in death by four sisters; Cassie Sweder, Thelma
Pennington, Barbara Pennington, and Polly Pennington.
Visitation will be held on
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at 5:00pm at the Chapel
of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Willie
Pennington will be held on Friday, September 3rd, 2010
at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 10:00am with Bro.
David Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside
Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors conducted by American
Legion Post 38 Honor Guard, and Masonic Rites conducted by Masonic
Lodge 634 at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
