Lou Alice Monde, age 77 of Tateville, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at home.
She was born on January 25, 1948 in Tateville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ed and Jean Cline Cook. For many years, she had worked as a cook at 7 Gables and also at Somerset Lodge from where she retired. She enjoyed Christmas, flowers, fishing and puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lou was of the Christian faith and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Jean Cook; brothers, David Cook and Odell Cook; sisters, JoAnn Hill and Barb Branscum.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John R. Monde; three children, Rhonda Epperson of Jamestown, John A. (Rochella) Monde of Bronston and Alice (Kevin) Monde-Taylor of Somerset; brothers, James Cook and Lyndon Cook; sisters, Cathy Bundy of Burnside and Linda Alton of Tateville; four grandchildren, Ashley Epperson, Austin Epperson, Jonathon Chitwood and Emily Monde; and a host nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John A. Monde, Kevin Taylor, Austin Epperson and Jonathon Chitwood.
