Mary Patricia (Pat) (Sears-Bingham) Young, age 77, of Somerset, Kentucky, of the Sandy Community, entered into this life on May 20, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio.
She entered into rest and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 9, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late, James G. Sears and Stella Marie (Inabnit-Sears) Wilson. She was married to: Brent M. Bingham of Somerset, Ky for 20 years, then married: to Randall G. Young of the Cooperative Area, of McCreary County, Ky, then in Somerset, Ky, on May 15, 2002, where they married and were married for 23 years. She loved her Lord and Savior. Pat had trouble with her health since 2008. She was saved and born again at the age of 10 years old. She continued living for her Lord until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of Detroit, Michigan and the Somerset area. Pat relocated to Ohio, Florida, and back to Somerset, Ky. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Marie (Bingham) Douglas; sisters: Anna Faye Neal (Edward) of Detroit, Michigan; Nancy Lee (Hubbard) Sollars of Flat Rock, Michigan and sister-in-law, Suzy Carroll Sears.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Randall Young, a daughter, Karen C. (Bingham) New (and John) of Somerset, Ky; brother Kenneth W. Sears (Violeta) of Bethel, OH; son-in-law, Kent Douglas (Natalie); 3 step-children: Carmella K. (Young-Oaks) Combs, William (Bill) Paul Young, and Angella L. (Young) Cambell; 6 grandchildren: Jared L. New (Somer) of Stanford, Ky; Jonathan B. New (Calynn) of Nancy, Ky; Hope T. Douglas, Gabrielle C. Douglas, Joshua J. Douglas and Daniel X. Douglas all of Cleveland, TN; 8 step-grandchildren: Faith M. Oaks, Joshua L. Koger, Samantha R. Koger, Luke D. Campbell, John R. Campbell, and Elias H. Young; 2 great-grandchildren: Hudson Charles New and Jensen Levi New; Along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She raised her daughters with so much love and fear of the Lord, and were both dedicated to him in infancy. She was an organist and pianist since she was the age of 12. She went to Southwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan, graduating in 1966, she went to KY Tech here in Somerset, where she took Desktop Publishing – Graphic Arts with Steve Phillipi. She worked for Schrader Paint and Glass, The S.S. Kresge Corporation in Michigan, The Corporate Office for all the K-Mart Stores at that time. She worked for Palm Beach in Somerset, worked in Gainesville, Florida as a pre-school teacher in a Christian school. She was organist for many years in Detroit, Cincinnati, and then Florida along with coordinating of many events at churches there. Pat was a Data Entry Operator, and worked at many Shell Stations in Somerset, until her health failed.
She was of the Protestant Faith.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10am-12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12pm with Bro. Larry Perkins and Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Sears Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jared New, Jonathan New, Luke Campbell, John Campbell, Bill Paul Young, Daniel Douglas, and Joshua Douglas.
