Austin Z. Flynn, age 33 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on November 3, 1991 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of Randy and Alesia Linkes Flynn.
Austin was an avid University of Louisville fan. He played basketball and was a 2010 Southwestern High School graduate. He liked fast cars and playing video games. He loved watching UofL football and basketball. Austin had worked as a Correctional Officer and was a member of Community Harvest Church. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Eugene Flynn and his cousin, Mason Flynn.
He is survived by his parents, Randy and Alesia Flynn of Somerset; one son, Tripp Zuel Flynn, and two daughters, Laikyn Brooke Flynn and Harper Ashton Flynn; his brother, Ryan Daniel (Misty) Flynn of Stanford; nieces, Ava Flynn and Rilynn Flynn; grandparents, Wayne and Fern Linkes of Somerset and Jean Gillispie of Somerset; uncles, Granville “Zig” Morrow of Danville, Allen Flynn of Somerset and John (Melissa) Linkes of Somerset; aunts, Mary (Frank) Jackson of Burnside and Monna (Kenny) Dysinger of Somerset; a special cousin, Sheila (Jerry) Hollars of Bronston; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. John Proctor officiating. Burial will be in New Bronston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Flynn, Cole Dysinger, Derrick Roberts, Aaron Brown, Jon Morris and Justin Trett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Jackson, Tristen Morrow, Jarrod Flynn. Cameron Flynn, Kenny Dysinger, Hallie Dysinger, Rilynn Flynn, Laikyn Flynn, Tripp Flynn, Harper Flynn, Taylor Haynes, Tyler Haynes, and Jordan Middleton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Guillan-Barre Syndrome Foundation.
