Bruce Nantz, 84, passed away March 2, 2026 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset, KY.  He was of the Christian faith and was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Bruce was born on September 12, 1941 in Leslie County, Kentucky, to Lawrence and Rose Wilson Nantz, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver. He was a songwriter, poet and musician that enjoyed playing the guitar. He also enjoyed repairing vehicles and restoring classic cars.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Bonita Lee Huffman Nantz, his son Glenn Nantz, three brothers, Lowell Nantz (Cecelia), Donald Nantz (Helen), John Nantz (Norma); and six sisters, Golda Rowlette (Cecil), Ruby Bates (Harry), Carolyn Smith (Riley), Evelyn Swarts (Don), Viola Rose (Clarence) and
Joann Ketner (Dave).
He is survived by one son, Lowell Nantz and wife Mandie Nantz of London, Ky; one daughter, Debbie Rose Steele and Husband Michael Steele of Corbin, Ky; one stepson Mark Wilfong of Jefferson City, Mo; one sister-in-law Berta Huffman Thompson of Buckhannon Wv;
Eight grandchildren, Michaela Marcum, Mackenzie Marcum, Colton Marcum, Nate Nantz, Madison Marcum, Kara Sasser, Kimberly Dison, Johnny Roark; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Marcum, Laken Longworth, Greyson Sturgill, Harper Dison, Eli Roark, Colter Sasser, Hudson Dison; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a former classmate and close friend Everett Morgan.
Cremation has been chosen in accordance with his wishes and a private graveside service and interment at Big Bend Cemetery will take place at a later date.
