Charles “Charlie” Davis age 74 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the VA Community Living Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born on November 12, 1951, in Somerset, to the late Paul L. and Mildred Lewis Davis.
Charlie was an avid fisherman who loved being out on the lake with his late wife and his family, especially his grandkids, who were the pride and joy of his life. He served in the United States Army, he was an expert marksman and artillery mechanic, and he was a member of the United Baptist Church at Wolf Ridge. He was a storyteller and would often talk about growing up on the farm. He loved sharing stories of his time in the Army; he was stationed in Germany. Charlie loved playing guitar. He loved Bluegrass music and making up silly songs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carroll Davis; brother, John Davis; sisters, Donna Faye Strunk and Barbara Davis.
He is survived by daughters, Brandie (Brian) Davis, Kasey (James) Hammock and Jessica Smith; son, Adam (Javier) Davis; favorite granddaughter, Jade; grandsons, Hashan, Mack, Jameson, and Lincoln; and a great-grandson, Princeton. He is also survived by his baby sister, Paulette Storie.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Matthew Powell officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery at a later date. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
