Dale was born on October 29, 1944, to the late Alonzo and Velma Whitaker in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, building, and carving canes for others. He collected firearms and was a gun enthusiast. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Whitaker, and a sister, Glenda Whitaker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons: Dale Edward Whitaker II of Shopville, KY and Dan Whitaker (Jana) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter Sherry Vaughn (Brian) of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren: Danny, Morgan, Alec, Erin, and Ireland; along with his dear friends: Jim Wilson, Larry Chamberlain, and Oakley Noe, and his dear neighbors: The Osbornes: Lois, Donna, Dave, Becky, and Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at 3pm on Friday, April 17, 2026, in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to begin at 4pm with Bro. Jimmy Ray Wilson officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.
