Darwin Lee Minton, age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Darwin was born on October 15, 1953 to the late Dan Minton and Cliva Colyer Minton in Somerset, Kentucky.
He attended Second Bethlehem Baptist Church in Winfield, Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, listening to Bluegrass music, and playing guitar. His family was what he cherished the most, especially his great-granddaughter.
Darwin was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 10 years, Karen Minton, his sons: Preston Hill (Jennifer) of Morgan County, TN and Nathan Hill (Aaron) of Knoxville, TN; daughters: Darla Crabtree (Robert) and Denise Kennedy all of Somerset, Ky; Lakeisha Keck (Candance) of New Tazewell, TN; brothers: Don Minton (Karen) of Science Hill, Ky; Dana Minton (Pam) and Tom Minton (Pam) all of Somerset, Ky; sister Diana Minton-Dalton also of Somerset; grandchildren: Isaac Martin, Dustin Lanigan (Sheyanne), Luke Lanigan (Jessilynn), Lily Hill and great-granddaughter: Emma May Lanigan; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 1pm-3pm in the chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 3pm with Bro. Tim Burchfield and Bro. Tommy Cate officiating. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Darwin Lee Minton.
