Joe Edward Carrender, age 57 of Bronston, Kentucky, left this world behind to go to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 13, 2025 following a long illness. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Joe Edward was born in Frankfort, Indiana on May 19, 1968 to Joddy Carrender and Gladys Neeley Carrender Troxtel.
Joe Edward enjoyed many things in life. He loved riding his motorcycle, working in the garden and family get togethers. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, his family and especially his grandbabies making memories. He loved taking them fishing, hunting and teaching them different things like gardening. One favorite memory was him teaching Connor how to plant a garden and the names of different plants when Connor was just a toddler. He enjoyed his daily calls to Aunt Della so he could talk to Uncle Newdeal who he lovingly referred to as “Old Grumpy”.
Joe Edward was a caring, loving man who would help anyone. He was always checking on others. He made a point of calling often to check on Aunt Norma. I truly believe if Aunt Norma needed a loaf of bread he would walk through a 10 foot blizzard to get it to her. Joe’s love knew no limits. In 2014, when his cousin Chad was critically hurt in a motorcycle accident Joe worked endlessly gathering items for a benefit ride. He did this so Chad’s Dad and Mom could be at the hospital with him instead of worrying about how to pay bills. That was the kind of man Joe Edward was kind, loving, caring and always worrying about others.
Along with his parents, Joe Edward was preceded in death by his son: Michael Jason Wells, his brother Jonathan (Johnny) Carrender, his paternal grandparents: Richard and Rilda Carrender, his maternal Grandparents: John and Jane Neeley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Debbie Brinson Carrender, whom he married on December 22, 2007. His sons: Johnathan (Heather) Brinson of Brighton, CO, Cody Carrender of Somerset, Ky, his daughters: Tonya Flynn of Somerset, Ky, Keisha (Kevin) Bickford of West Virginia, his stepfather: Ray Troxtel of Somerset, Ky, his grandchildren: Isabella, Braiden, Jason, Kelsey, Connor, Madyson, Michael, Allison, Jamison, Kenzie and Kaylee. His brother: Calvin (Gloria) Carrender of Bronston, Ky, his sisters: Kim (Steve) Lowe of Monticello, Ky, Misty (Tim) Garner of Whitley City, Ky, and Heather Carrender of Somerset, Ky, his uncle: Thurman Carrender of Bronston, Ky, his aunts: Della (Newdeal) Branscum of Bronston, Ky, Norma (Gary) Hardwick of Bronston, Ky, Special Friends: Wesley and Peggy Ross. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joe Edward leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and lessons that his family will carry forward. We all take comfort in knowing as he told us many times that he will be sitting at the feet of Jesus till we are together again.
