Somerset, KY Obituaries. Preserving Their Memory.

Raymond (Chuck) Wesley, age 58 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully among his family on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his beloved wife, Daphne Wesley who he married in 1987. Together, they built a life defined by family, and living a simple life.
Though Chuck’s time with us was far too short, Chuck taught us that life, much like fishing, requires patience, a bit of luck, and a good story to tell at the end of the day. He found his greatest peace on the water with a fishing pole in his hand, but he also lived for the thrill of the track. An avid NASCAR fan, he loved spending time with his family on the track, cheering on his favorite drivers and loved the roar of the engines as much as the quiet of the lake. To those who knew Chuck, was defined by his greatest loves, fishing, racing, and most of all his grandchildren.
Chuck loved spending time with his grandkids. His favorite stories to tell were always about the accomplishments of his grandkids.
Raymond (Chuck) Wesley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Daphne Wesley, Father Avery Welsey, Mother Ruth Ann Wesley, like a Father George Eldon Harness, father-in-law James Cook, granddaughter Heavenly Wesley, and a nephew Craig Wesley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children JR (Kim) Wesley of Somerset, Delores (Austin) Adams of Somerset, and Tiffany Wesley of Somerset, grandchildren, Alex, Baylee, Carson, Kingslee, Jacob, Harley, Kaylee, Cynthia, Skylar, Olliver, Zackary, Laken, Jesse, Blake, Emma, and Brayden. Siblings, Charles (Butch) Wesley of Somerset, Angela (Tony) Smith of Science Hill, Marsha (Mike) Oney of Stanford, Lee (Kendra) Wesley of Monticello, and Ellie (Bart) Williams of Somerset. A very loving Mother-in-law Delores Dugger. Sisters-in-law, Jamie and Jenny, and Brother-in-law Jimmy (Bo) Cook. Along with a host of extended family members and friends who will forever carry his memory with them.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and “Thank You” to the Lake Cumberland Hospice Unit for the exceptional care they provided. Also, the family wishes to share a special word of gratitude to Preacher Mike Oney. Mike was the steady hand that guided Chuck to his faith. We find great comfort knowing that the man helped Chuck find the Lord is the same man leading him home today.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to Southern Oaks Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. The family deeply appreciates your support and prayers during this time.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
