Gary W. Roberts

Gary W. Roberts, age 71, of Ferguson, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his home.

He was born on November 12, 1948 in Somerset, son of the late Harmon and Martha King Roberts.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army and later retired from the Somerset Police Department as a Detective. He attended Community Baptist Church, and enjoyed golfing, watching UK ball games and UFC fighting. Most of all he cherished and loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter; Tammy (and Donnie) Godbey of Somerset, four grandchildren; Whitney (and Scott) Browning, Tyler Blevins, Tanner Baker and Blake Turner. He is also survived by a son; Byron (and Tina) Blevins of Berea.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Ron Shaw officiating.

Interment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
