Larry Gene Shadoan “Shad”

Larry Gene Shadoan “Shad” age 70, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Larry was born July 7, 1950 to the late Fairvell Shadoan and Lucille Hahn Shadoan in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist faith, an Army Vietnam Veteran, retired as a HVAC installer after working for Epperson Electric for over 25 years and independently for 20 years, he enjoyed UK Basketball, Reds Baseball, NASCAR, gardening, but most of all spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Fairvell and Lucille Shadoan, brothers, Billy Shadoan, Bobby Shadoan, Eddie Shadoan, brother-in-law, Dave Ferrell, sister-in-laws, Darlene Weaver Shadoan, Linda Grammer Shadoan Diesel.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Christy Phelps (Mike) of Somerset, son, Tim Shadoan (Jill) of Somerset, mother of his children, Dianne Shadoan,  brothers, Jerry Shadoan (Rhonda), Donnie Shadoan (Jodi), Bo Shadoan, Gary Shadoan all of Somerset, sister, Patsy Ferrell of Liberty, KY, grandchildren, Calena Phelps, Jordan Phelps, Tyler Phelps, Morgan Edens, Kelsey Phelps, Taylor Shadoan, Hayden Shadoan, great-grandchildren, CaLeigh Phelps-Conston, Malia Phelps, Ethan Edens, like a daughter, Danielle Roy and like a granddaughter, Fiona Beasley. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating, burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Larry Gene Shadoan “Shad”.
