Edward Allen Meece, age 84, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at his home.
Edward was born on November 21, 1941 to the late Ernest Meece and Cora Lee Rose Meece in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outside and taking walks in the woods. He enjoyed watching westerns, loved watching and feeding wild birds, and was a cowboy at heart.
Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his former wife, Ruby Meece, his sister, Juanita Hampton and 2 grandchildren: Jordan Pool and Kenneth Dyer.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons: Ernest Meece Jr. (Chantel), Shane Meece (Ashton), and Jamie Meece all of Somerset, Ky; daughters: Linda Pool (Troy) of Hardinsburg, Ky; Brenda Meece-Aubrey of Custer, Ky and Jessica Meece (Justin) of Somerset, Ky; brother David Meece (Helen) of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren: Joshua Lucas (Sarah), Lauren Denner (Billy), Cole Aubrey (Allie), Genesis Meece, Remy Meece, Kyrie Meece, Joshie Godbey, Zoey Godbey, Kensley Dyer, Leiya Meece, Bella Meece, Devin Meece and Kaleb Meece; along with16 great-grandchildren and former wife and friend, Linda Aubrey. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 12pm-2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Gary Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in White Lily Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.
