Charles E. Baugh

Mr. Charles E. Baugh, age 87 of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home.

Charles was born on September 23, 1936 in Mt. Zion, Kentucky, son of the late Rufus and Minnie Vaught Baugh. He married Hulda Dykes on October 11, 1961. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy and 26 years at Oakwood. Charles was of the Baptist faith and a member of Love Devine Baptist Church. He enjoyed being at church and spending time with his family. Charles will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Minnie Baugh; his wife of 56 years, Hulda Dykes Baugh; son, Billy Eugene Baugh; daughter-in-law, Shirley Baugh; daughter, Theresa Kay Martinez; and one grandson, Clarence Baugh.

He is survived by daughter, Lorie Monroe and a son, James Baugh (Elva Kirpatrick); grandchildren, Steven Lee (Samantha Cook), Amanda Bolen (Charles Hubbard), Billy Jack Baugh (Angela Stokes), Eric Hardwick, Aaron Hardwick and Nathan Hardwick. Great-grandchildren, Aiden Lee, Jayden Johnson, Kameron Lee, Peyton Davis, Jordan Davis, Chase Bolen, Pierce and Davin Hubbard, Kendra and Navaeh Baugh, Hunter Reynolds and Jackson Reynolds. Brothers. Elwin Dee Baugh; 2 sisters, Eardean Hendricks and Betty Joyce Dick.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Vestal Meece officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Charles Hubbard, Steven Lee, Billy Baugh, Aaron Hardwick, Nathan Hardwick and Eric Hardwick. 

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Charles E. Baugh.
