Christopher Aaron Howard, age 59, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Chris was born on November 21, 1966 to James Howard and Barbara McDaniel Howard in Amherst, Ohio.
Chris was a devoted husband, father, and son. He loved the Lord, had a deep care for others and shared God’s love with everyone. He was a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Even during his illness, he was a willing vessel. He cherished his family, friends, and his church family. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Chris’ professional life was as a Nurse Anesthetist. He enjoyed this career very much until his health caused him to take early retirement. He was so admired and loved by his co-workers due to his sense of humor and the care he gave his patients.
Chris was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing basketball, video game systems, fishing, watching The Cleveland Browns football team, The Cleveland Guardians baseball team and the Cleveland Cavalier Basketball team. He enjoyed scuba diving, snorkeling and visiting the ocean. He was known for always telling jokes and laughing.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, James Howard. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Howard, his mother, Barbara Howard, his sons: Aaron Howard (Jessica) of Mansfield, OH; Ethan Howard and Kyle Howard both of Somerset, KY; daughters: Katherine Howard of Avon, OH and Julia Howard of Somerset, KY; sister Debra Millard (Raymond) of Amherst, OH; and grandson Greyson Howard of OH.
Family will have a Celebration of Life at Oak Hill Baptist Church at a later date.
