Doris “Jeanie” Lynn

Monday, March 11th, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.

Doris “Jeanie” Lynn, age 79, of Bronston, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, March 4, 2024 at her home. She was born on December 3, 1944 to the late Hubert Gregory and Myrtle Calhoun Gregory in Louisville, Kentucky.

Jeanie was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church since 1970. She and her husband, Darrell taught Sunday School Class there for many years. She had a Christian love and compassion for her fellow man and went on several foreign mission trips with the church.

Jeanie was happiest being outdoors. She grew up swimming, fishing and boating on the lake, first with her parents and later with her husband and children. She had a love and passion for pets and not just her own. Anything from a dog on a leash to rabbits in a cage, Jeanie had to stop and admire! She enjoyed flowers, plants and gardening and for a time was owner of Cumberland Gardens. She was also a real estate agent for Samuel Ray Godby for many years. Most recently, she and her husband owned and operated Jiffy Dry Cleaners for 35 years.

Jeanie was a woman who lived her life with enthusiasm. Just being around, her would lift your spirits. We will miss her love and support that we could always count on and we will surely miss that quirky sense of humor that kept us laughing.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Myrtle Gregory, brother, Jerry Gregory and sister, Margie Layton.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Darrell Lynn, sons, Chris Lynn of Ft. Myers, FL; Matthew Lynn (Leah) of Spokane, WA; daughter, Tami Minor of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren, Nicholas Minor, Lucas Minor, McKenzie Minor, Jackson Jaurez, Asriel Bacon (Conner), Nathaniel Lynn (Morgan), Josiah Lynn and Zachariah Lynn.

Visitation will be held on Monday, 11, 2024 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Blue John Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Doris “Jeanie” Lynn.
