James A. Harris Jr.

James A. Harris Jr., age 86, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from life Friday, December 17, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
James was born August 11, 1935 to James Harris Sr. and Irene Crabb Harris in New Albany, Indiana.
He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church and loved to have cook outs with his family. He enjoyed his church and visiting his friends at Kroger where he retired from.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene Harris; first wife, Wanda Harris and second wife, Alice Harris; sons, Stevie Harris and Mark Harris; sister-in-law, Rhonda K. Harris.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his special step-daughter, Jenny Campbell of Nancy, Ky; brother Stephen T. Harris of IN; sister, Barb Nelson (Jim); special granddaughter, Amy Burton (Jeremy) of Nancy, Ky; stepsons, Mark Patterson (Kelly), Jerry Patterson (Ali), Van Patterson (Mary), Benny Ray Patterson (Stephanie); special nieces and nephews, Stephanie Rockey (Jimmy), Allison Meuse (Steve), Mark and Clay Durbin; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2 P.M. with Bro. Billy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for James A. Harris Jr.

I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was such a good man. He and I shared a lot of stories. He will be missed. So very sad. I was honored to call him, my friend. Prayers for the family.
