James Keith Rigsby, age 82 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at his home.
He was born on January 10, 1944 in Richmond, Indiana, son of the late Fred and Mildred Fish Rigsby. He was a letter carrier for the Post Office and of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #196 in Richmond, Indiana, the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard and a Veteran of the United States Marines. He enjoyed golfing and loved bird watching, specifically hummingbirds. James was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mildred Rigsby; wife, Carolyn Rigsby; daughter, Wendy Gail Rigsby; brother, Benjamin Harry Rigsby; and sister, Karen Schmidt. He is survived by his son, Vincent (Monica) Rigsby of Texas; daughters, Tara (Brad) Bohn of Indiana, and Danielle Ruble of Charleston, Indiana; brothers, Charles Fred Rigsby of Kentucky and Gerald (Claudia) Rigsby of Indiana; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other family members.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Dean Collins officiating. Masonic Services will take place at 1:30 pm and will be provided by the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634. Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Hospital.
