James Ritchie age 90, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed from this life Tuesday, September 15, 2020. James was born January 29, 1930 to the late Edward Ritchie and Ganelle Pitts Griffith in Ellenton, South Carolina.
He was of the Baptist faith and served his country by serving both Air Force and Marine Corps. He loved to listen to old records and classical music, like to browse at flea markets but most of all cherished family time.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ganelle Griffith, wife, Wilma Ruth Ritchie, son, James E. Ritchie, Jr., sister, Ina Lynn Ritchie, brothers, Billy Ritchie, Jerry Ritchie, Jack Ritchie and great-granddaughter, McKenzie Jackson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons, Philip Ritchie (Erica) of Sulphur, LA, Stephen Ritchie I (Michelle) of Lake Charles, LA, daughters, Cynthia Chandler (Mike) of Somerset, KY, Dawn Ritchie (Richard Hansen) of Nashville, TN, brothers, Carl Ritchie of West Monroe, LA, Larry Rentz of Wade Cross, GA, sisters, Ginger Strother, Charlene Ritchie, 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating.
Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post#38.
