Kayla Elizabeth Marick, age 35, of Royal Oak, Michigan (later residing in Science Hill, Kentucky), was called home on April 28, 2026. Peacefully transitioning in her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Kayla was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed attending Victory Christian Fellowship. A faithful servant of the Lord, she touched the hearts of so many. Taking every opportunity to sing, “Look What the Lord Has Done” and praying for anyone and everyone who had ears to hear, and eyes to see.
Some of her favorite activities included spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, eating at a steak house, drinking coffee, shopping, and listening to her favorite song, “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus (her man).
To know Kayla, was to love her. She was a force to be reckoned with and fiercely loved all who was in her life.
Kayla was preceded in death by: maternal grandparents’ “Papa CJ” CJ Hopson, “Suga Mama” Lucille Hopson of Royal Oak, MI, and Travis Hopson of West Bloomfield, MI.
Kayla is survived by: her mother, Donna Marick of Science Hill, KY. “Aunt Birdie” Roberta Smith Pridemore of West Bloomfield, MI, Dale (Sharon) Hopson of Science Hill, KY, Roger (Sharon) Hopson of West Bloomfield, MI, Derek (Stacey) Hopson of Sterling Heights, MI and a multitude of cousins to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her dog, Harley.
