Marvlena Collingsworth, age 76, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at her home.
Marvlena was born on September 6, 1946 to the late Porter Hughes and Margaret Haynes Hughes in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, painting and loved her furbabies. Most of all she cherished her family. Especially her grandchildren.
Marvlena was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Margaret Hughes, her husband, Ottis Collingsworth, sister, Alfreda Russell, an infant brother, Marlan Hughes and grandson, Kevin Cline.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Killus Collingsworth (Shelia) of Somerset, Ky; daughter, Karen Ashley (Donald) of Somerset, Ky; her life partner, Michael Garland; brother, Maynard Bob Hughes (Mary Ann) of IN; grandchildren, Hunter Ashley, Randy Collingsworth, Chris Rich, Makayla Marcum, great-grandchildren, Kynleigh Chamber and Jaxon Golf.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 7th, 2023 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1 P.M. with Bro. Donald Ashley officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Southern Oasks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Marvlena Collingsworth.
