Nanci Joan Burger, 78, of Somerset, Kentucky, born July 27, 1947 in Oakland, California, entered the Throne Room of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2026, at 9:30 AM.
Growing up in Santa Clara, California, Nanci often spoke of the incredibly rich soil that was later covered in concrete. After high school, she flew internationally as a stewardess. She traveled the world and participated in the evacuation of soldiers from Vietnam.
After years of travel, she became a devoted stay-at-home mom and Nana, dedicating her life to her family. Gifted at sharing the love of Jesus, she witnessed boldly—whether to a captive audience in prisons or an unsuspecting shopper in the produce section—something she never tired of doing. She loved her family and friends deeply and longed for each of them to know “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.”
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jerry Burger; daughter Brittany DiLorenzo; son Curt (Carole) Dunaway; step-son Jeremy (Erin) Green; and step-daughter Amy Coffee.
Grandchildren include Ashley (Marcelo) Pinel, Lily Aguilar, Maddie Bailey, Cameron, Ryan Cecil, Jaden Green, Hunter Coffee, Slater Green, Emily Cecil, Ella Green, Eden Green, and Francesca Green.
Great-grandchildren are Celine, Marcelo II, Sebastian, Camila, Joaquin, Adria, Marcelina (infant), Angel, Luca, and Micaela (due in July). along with brother Ken Rogers.
She also leaves behind many “adopted” daughters whom she loved and raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord
