Nancy Grant

Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

Nancy Grant, of Oak Hill Community, met her Savior face to face on January 27, 2024 at the age of 83.

Nancy was born on February 9, 1940, in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Walter and Nevada Nicholas.  She was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church for many years and showed her love for the Lord through her service to others.  Nancy was a devoted Air Force wife, an incredible cook, and a talented basketmaker, gardener, painter, and seamstress.  Nancy’s most important role, however, was that of mother.  She was an example of Christian grace, love, and goodness to all who met her.  There is no doubt she heard, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” as she entered heaven’s gates.

She is survived by her children Robby (Michele) Pierce of Somerset, KY, Vickie (David) Elkin and Nicole (Heath) Dolen of Lexington, KY,  and step- sons Michael (Karen) Grant of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kenny (Latonja) Grant of Midwest City, OK. She is survived by the lights of her life (her six grandchildren): Eric (Hannah) Walker, Kristine Pierce, Lauren (Michael) Combs, Grant and Emma Dolen, and Semaj Grant. Nancy was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Tripp, Riley, and Tristan Walker, Rylan Turner and Hayden Campos.  Nancy leaves behind many family and friends, including special Military friends (“The German Mafia”), and her long-time caregivers Joyce Stinson and Rita Cochran.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Oak Hill Baptist Church at 6pm.

Visitation will resume after 9am on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with a funeral service to begin at 11am with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church or Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Nancy Grant.
