Sharon was born in Bremen, IN to parents Clifford and Fannie Spradlin, both of whom precede her in death. She spent her early childhood living between Indiana and Kentucky. As a young adult, she lived in Indiana for several years, where she worked as a manual laborer at a boat factory, and then transitioned into retail management, which she had a real passion for. During that time, she maintained a social lifestyle that enabled her to make lifelong friendships with many people who continued to keep in touch with her throughout the years. Those friendships meant a lot to her and played an important role in her life. However, after making her final move back to Kentucky in 1998, she declared “this is home”.
Sharon resided in the Griffin community of Wayne County for the past 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, going to yard sales, shopping, flower gardening, painting and perhaps most of all, going out to eat Chinese food. She was a very generous, loving, headstrong, confident and intelligent woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Cricket) Stigall; her son, Shawn Vaughn; five brothers, James Spradlin, Donald Spradlin, Daniel Spradlin, Timothy Spradlin and Terry Spradlin; one sister, Dianna F. Bell and four nephews, Robert Spradlin, Dwight Bell, Daryl Bell and Derek Bell. She is survived by one sister, Brenda Whitehead; one sister-in-law, Rosetta Spradlin (who was also her very best friend) and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins and family friends who mourn her passing.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, she planned for cremation with no funeral service. She will be laid to rest in the Spradlin Cemetery in Griffin, alongside her husband. A memorial service for her may be planned at a later date.
