Stanley Richard Schmitt

Stanley Richard Schmitt, age 84 of Bronton, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He was born on May 28, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Frank J. and Violet Lee Titlow Schmitt.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Oneida, Tennessee. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 34 ½ years. For 30 years, Stanley ushered for the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals at River Front Stadium and Crosley Field. For 18 years, he drove a school bus in Cincinnati and McCreary County and played Santa Clause for 21 years at homes and parties. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna Jean Sellers Schmitt and a son, Kevin Mark Schmitt.

He is survived by his children, Connie Lynn Lucas (John) and Debbie Goins (David) all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marilou Bricken (David) of St Louis, Missouri, David Sellers (Cindy) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Carter Stewart (Bridgett) of Bronston, Kentucky; a special friend, Pat Day of Onieda, Tennessee, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Stanley Richard Schmitt.
