William Boyd “Bill” Harrison

William Boyd “Bill” Harrison, age 85 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He was born on November 1, 1937 in Somerset, son of the late Lester and Argola Harrison.

After getting his GED, Bill went to work for Phillips Tree Experts in Corbin for approximately 20 years. He then moved to Somerset where he was employed with Kentucky Utilities where he worked as a Lineman and retired from there. Bill was an active member and a Master Mason of Mount Gilead Lodge of Science Hill. He enjoyed cooking, farming, and hunting and fishing with his 3 sons. In 1974, he started going to Land Between the Lakes where he enjoyed hunting and continued to hunt there with his sons until his passing. He also loved watching and cheering for the Cincinnati Reds. 5 years ago, Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and told his children that he prayed daily and that he had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Jeanette Silvers Harrison; brother John Harrison, sisters, Lorene Abbott, Dorothy Harrison Waters; Lorestia Watson and Margola Wolsey.

He is survived by his sons, Doug (and Dana) Harrison, Wayne (and Terry) Harrison, Tim (and fiancé Jackie Hartley) and brother, Kenny Harrison, all of Somerset; grandchildren, Jessica Whitis, Marcus Harrison, Bethany Harrison and Austin Harrison; great-grandchildren, Mason Thompson, Natalie Thompson, Gunner Whitis and Colson Harrison.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the Silvers Cemetery.

Southern Oaks Funeral home is entrusted with the arrangements for William Boyd “Bill” Harrison.
